What went into the recruitment:

Coming into the spring of his junior year is when the hard-hitting safety began to make a name for himself and started receiving attention from schools. Princeton was his first offer in March, followed by Bucknell, Cornell, and then Wabash.

What sold him on Cornell?

Cornell Big Red: Rich was drawn to Cornell's strong sports program and its commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes. The university's facilities and coaching staff played a crucial role in his decision.

On his visit:Rich said, "While at Cornell, the people and the atmosphere were much more appealing to me than at Princeton. The coaches and players were people I could connect with and relate to."

Rich's decision was also influenced by the supportive environment at Cornell. The coaches repeatedly expressed how much they needed a player like him to join the program.

Are Schools still recruiting you?

Yeah, all my schools that offered texted me congratulations, and I've spoken with a few coaches about my decision!

Goals for the Year:

Goals for this season is mainly to win with my team and become a better leader for the younger guys.

What is Cornell getting in Gedontae "Duke" Rich?

Cornell will be getting a hard-hitting safety who is a leader in the secondary. Rich is a 5'11" 170-pound aggressive defensive back whoses not afraid to use his physicality. He has speed and can make plays on deep passes. He might redshirt and work on adding more muscle and bulk to his frame. He will be a big time player with the Big Red in no time.
