10 Prospects that can boost their recruitment with a good Spring!
Jul 17, 2023
As the Spring season comes to a close, prospects have been making the most of their 15 or so practices in hopes of boosting their recruitment. We've already seen some promising talent, but there are still five prospects left to watch. These recruits are expected to have a strong showing in the upcoming spring games, thus increasing their offer list.
1. ATH Zuri Watson |5'11" 170| Northside Christian High School 2024
Northside Christian Athlete Zuri Watson- Watson has earned the right to be the number one prospect that could really flip his recruitment this spring. He has continually proved to be a next level player. His growth at the position gives him major upside and he has the potential to maximize his status this spring.
Scouting Report: Zuri Watson is the top-performing defensive back in the 2024 class in my opinion. He will undoubtedly play in some school's secondary and i project him to excel at the next level. Watson has been a starter since 8th grade on the varsity level and has continuously improved until he has become one of the best in the state. He has the size and measurables to compete at any major high level. Additionally, Watson has the ability to play offense as a running back and has proven to be a breakaway threat. He has proved his skills in various games, camps, and workouts, where he has shown excellent ball skills and the ability to challenge receivers of all sizes. Watson has that dog in him and that's what sets him apart from others. I am confident that he will play early at a P5 school.

2. ATH Malachi Peterson |6'0" 185| Largo High School 2024
Largo Athlete Malachi Peterson- A prospect on a team full of D1 prospects, He has gone a little unnoticed. Peterson is a stud who has production to back it up. He is physically gifted and looks to be in for a good season.
Scouting Report: Peterson, is a promising two-way player in the 2024 class who excels as both a defensive back and running back. When he's carrying the rock, Peterson displays impressive purpose and speed as he hits the hole, showing off his quickness and ability to break through to the secondary. He's tough enough to run between the tackles and doesn't go down easily on the first hit. Peterson is more of a one-cut downhill type of back, but his balance and catching abilities make him a valuable asset in the passing game. Despite not currently having any offers, his impressive production and athleticism are sure to attract the attention of schools in no time.

3. ATH Artrevian "Tre" Mcclellan |5'8" 160| Clearwater Central Catholic High 2024
Central Catholic Athlete Artrevian "Tre" Mcclellan- Without a doubt, Tre is one of the most electrifying and dynamic two-way prospects in the area, as he proved on Friday night. Every time he got his hands on the ball, he had the potential to make a big play. His impressive performance has certainly caught the attention of recruiters.
Scouting Report: Artrevian is a flashy prospect in this 2024 class. Mcclellan is a bit under-sized but plays like he's 6'2". His high-level athleticism shows on tape and due to his athleticism, he rarely comes off the field. Is most dangerous with the ball in his
hand when either utilized as a running back or lined up in the slot. He has make you-miss ability and adds in the return game. Overall Mcclellan is a versatile ATH who can make a significant impact on the game because he's slippery in space and can win one-on-one battles. Schools might be scared off by his size, but he can play at any level in my opinion.

4. RB Nathan Carter |5'9" 190| Osceola High 2024
Osceola Running back Nathan Carter- Carter, one of the county's top returning RB, is entering spring with an unwavering determination. Despite amassing 2,000 career rushing yards and 17 Tds, he has yet to receive any offers. Nevertheless, Carter exudes confidence that the offers will soon come flooding in. He firmly believes that he is the most dominant running back in the entire county.
Scouting Report: Another one of the more intriguing prospects in Pinellas County 2024 class. Carter is a bit under-sized but his naturally low center of gravity and ability to run with power and vision makes him elusive to make onward defenders miss. Overall Carter is a versatile running back who can make a significant impact on the game by carrying the ball or catching passes from the backfield. School will be hesitant to pull the trigger on a FBS offer but several small will come knocking.

5. ATH Gage Nix|6'2" 170| Clearwater High 2024
Clearwater Athlete Gage Nix-Gage a talented 6'2" athlete that has big play ability and plays with swag, Shows speed, quickness, and elusiveness when he hits the field on Friday nights. He will be returning to Clearwater High for his senior season as he played last season with the Lakewood high Spartans. Gage possesses the desired size that coaches seek and has recently received respectable offers, from the lower FBS level type schools but, I anticipate even greater offers to come in the near future. Gage's athleticism enables him to effortlessly make plays on both offense and defense. Gage is the type of prospect that could contribute as soon as he touche a college campus.
Scouting Report: One of the more intriguing prospects in Pinellas County 2024 class. Kind of a do-it-all prospect who's a flat-out football player. As mentioned could play either side of the ball, but physically must add weight to his frame. A good productive year could boost his Offer list to the P5 level.

Analysis: Messick- Messick, a rising defensive player who has gained a reputation for being a nightmare for opposing teams. As a 2025 prospect, he is versatile and can play various positions on the field, serving as the backbone of Palm Harbor's defense. Messick's exceptional ability to rush the pass makes him a valuable asset. I anticipate seeing him in blitzes and multiple packages to challenge opponents. As a hybrid DE/LB type player, he is still developing and has a lot of growth potential. Additionally, Messick excels academically, boasting an impressive 4.5 GPA, which has caught the attention of Ivy League schools. With a good spring, his recruitment can get a significant boost, and I can see that happening really soon.

7. LB Letarrian Jones |5'10" 225| Seminole High 2024
Analysis: Jones- Jones is a prospect that has flown a bit under-the-radar, mainly because of his size. Although Jones may be overlooked due to his size at 5'10", his impressive skills on the field cannot be ignored. As a linebacker, he plays with great awareness, reads plays well, and immediately pursues the ball carrier. Jones proves that size doesn't matter as he plays as well as any prospect in the area. He brings a lot to the table and plays much bigger than his listed height and weight. Keep an eye on him as he continues to dominate and will surely be a valuable asset to any school on signing day.

2022 Season Stats: 100 tlks 1 FF Fum Rev 3 (42 Solos)
8. IOL Jameson "Big Whiskey" Jensen |6'4" 290| Northside Christian High 2024
Analysis: Jensen- Jensen has come along nicely thus far, bulking up and gaining mass heading into the spring. He's made the most of his outings by impressing with each camp he has attended. Jensen is a big kid that can move and has the smarts and versatility to play anywhere along the offensive line. As Jensen continues to peak and gain momentum heading into the summer, recruiters will take a long look at the 6'4" interior lineman. Schools right now are enamored with his size and his ability to use his size to his advantage. Jensen has earned all-county honors and was named the team's most outstanding offensive player. He's a kid that takes his academics seriously. (3.88 GPA). An offer could come at any time but, until then, hes earger to improve until it happens.

9. SS Gedontae "duke" Rich |6'0" 175| Clearwater Central Catholic 2025
Analysis: Rich- Rich is a talented 2025 prospect that has shown a glimpse of promise. As a safety he's been a tackling machine. He has amassed over 100 total tackles and added four ints last season. He's drawn rave reviews from his coach as being comparable to a 1st team all-American. Rich has solidified himself as a prospect that can boost his recruitment with a good showing this spring. His film display the ability to make the open field tackle as well as play the ball well in the air. He'll continue to fill out and get bigger and stronger which tells me his primed to be a top safety in the next two years. Rich feels he's at the next level and expects the offers to come his way soon however, he will remain patient and continue to improve and perfect his craft. Rich also boasts a 4.11 GPA, so that tells me he also takes things seriously in the classroom as well!

10. DB Kaveon Whitlock |6'1" 170| Lakewood High School 2024
(Photo provided by: Stylish Entertainment)
Analysis: Whitlock came on strong in the latter part of last season as he lead the team in tackles during their postseason run. He immediately turned heads by making splash plays on the back in for the Spartans Defense. Whitlock will contribute heavily this spring as a safety for the Spartans' secondary. He's grown immensely as a DB and has added size to his frame. Nicknamed the "Locksmith" Whitlock can play either corner or safety and has shown he has big play ability when he returned a pick-six against State Champions Lakeland Dreadnaughts. Whitlock is an average open-field tackler with good range, plays the ball well, and has developed some savviness to his game. Whitlock is one to keep an eye on going forward!
